Barrels, 30 degree sunshine and a bunch of aerial popping surfing pro’s made this year’s Quiksilver Pro one to remember!
With the competition site based at Seignosse, Le Penon – right next to our Surf Camp accommodation – all our Boardingmania guests were happy to roll out of bed and surf alongside the pro’s.
With a 2m+ plus swell and light offshore winds, Day 7 saw the competitors battle it
out at the barrel-fest that is La Graviere – and with 30+ degrees, the heat was on the
fans as well as the competitors 😉
With the final at Le Penon, the waves were not of world-class quality, but that didn’t stop Mick Fanning and Gabriel Medina show-casing the best of their abilities in the water. It was a close call throughout the heat, but good ol’ Mick finally took the title, with a final score of 16.66, beating 19 year old brazilian Medina by 1.66 points!
